A reminder to those of you who are breeders; whether you advertise here, or anywhere else you are subject to being checked by the USDA to ensure that you have a license IF you need one.  The USDA routinely checks our website as well as numerous papers and other advertising services.

A person or persons involved in any of the following situations may be required to possess an ACFA license or registration:

-Have more than three intact female dogs and/or cats,
-Raise and sell any puppies or kittens,
-Transport any dog or cat for a fee or any type of consideration
-Buy and sell any dogs or cats,
-Act as an agent or negotiate the sale of any dogs or cats,
-Operate an auction in which ownership of dogs or cats are transferred,
-Operate a boarding kennel, boarding service, or training service with boarding of dogs or cats.
-Operate a pet shop that sells or gives away any dogs or cats,
-Collect or harbor stray or unwanted dogs or cats,
-Act as a rescue service for dogs or cats
-Use your own home as a pet sitting facility.
-Any person (public or private) exhibiting any dog or cat to the public for Compensation or for a consideration of any kind whether directly or indirectly.

Operating without a license is a Class A Misdemeanor, and an Administrative Law Judge can issue a fine of up to 1,000.00 per violation.
